Enrollment Policy, Procedures and Timeline
Victory Ridge Academy is committed to providing a collaborative educational-therapeutic education to eligible children in the Lake Wales and surrounding communities. VRA will not discriminate against applicants on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, national origin or disability.
All eligible students will have an equal opportunity of attending the school through the school’s application and wait-list procedure. Families will receive information about the school’s mission and vision, communicate with the school officials, and receive the school application packet. Victory Ridge Academy uses a rolling-application process, and students are eligible to apply at any time. Families will be contacted regarding the outcome of their applications in a timely manner.
The following eligible students will have preference in admission, assuming that at no point these preferences are more than a small percentage of the school, as per federal guidelines:
- Siblings of current VRA students
- Children of VRA staff
- Children of VRA board members
Following the enrollment preferences listed above, all eligible students will have an equal opportunity to attend VRA. In the event that the number of applications exceeds the number of available openings, VRA will utilize a waiting list, and students will be accepted in order of receipt of the completed application packet.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I enroll my child in the Academy?
VRA requires completion of an application to the school. The child must meet eligibility criteria based on scores from developmental assessment. If the child is younger than 3-years-old, they must be enrolled in the Early Steps program under an Individual Family Support Plan. If they are older than 3-years-old, they must have had or be scheduled to have a developmental assessment completed. This can be done through the Child Find program or we can do it onsite at VRA. If a child already has an active Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) they can be considered for enrollment.
For more information, please contact Admissions at 863-679-3338, Extension #7 or at email@example.com.
How can my child receive therapy?
Your child’s physician should write a prescription for Physical, Occupational, Speech-Language, and Behavioral evaluations and treatment. If the child qualifies for these services, they will receive them during the school day. Educational services will be provided in a group setting; whereas medical services will be provided individually. Medical services will be billed to your child’s insurance.
For more information, please contact Dr. Erika Timpe, VRA’s Coordinator of Therapy Services at 863-679-3338, Extension #105 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
How much does it cost?
There is no cost for attendance. Victory Ridge Academy is a public charter school that receives funding in the same manner as traditional public schools.
